Hi Friends,
Today, I have an interesting update for all the programming folks out there! Yes, Google have come up with a new programming language called Dart. Recently, the company had bought several Dart-related domains beefing up the speculations of a new programming language under its hood. Anyway, now the wait is over as the company claims that Dart has emerged as a new programming language in the league of structured web programming languages.
Google's two key developers, Gilad Bracha and Lars Bak, will officially unveils the new language during the key note speech of Goto conference in Aarhus, Denmark on October 10th. Till that time, we can presume the key features and characteristics of Dart programming language. We can also arrive at some conclusion by cross examining the detailed biographies of the two Googlers.
Gilad Bracha is a veteran of SAP, Sun and java and an avid researcher in the area of object-oriented programming languages. Lars Bak is passionate implementer of object-oriented virtual machines, and is the man responsible for the design and implementation of V8, the accelerator that makes Google Chrome fast.
Earlier, Google had come up with another programming language, Go, a C-like system oriented language. It is very obvious that the new addition by Google, Dart programming language, will have to face stiff and tight competition from the already existent pool of well-supported languages. If Dart is assumed to be a smalltalk venture, then its main rivals will be Javascript and python. There is no idea as to why Google has chosen a name like "dart". It just means a sharp pointed missile weapon.
We have seen that Google's entry in to the world of programming languages hasn't been met with a huge success. Lets hope that dart don't have a fate like Go!
Cheers,
